Production Blog - Troubles With Filming
As you can already tell by the title the process of filming immediately began with problems. One of the problems was figuring out where to actually film. Now of course we had our storyboard and our previous planning. But it had come to fail us. This was due to the fact that we had complications of distance people who were participating in the actual film.
The first day of filming came surprisingly at TY Park where Andrea, my teammate, and I would come to meet the future "star" of the video. Now the person who had brought us there was my other teammate, Angelica. She had done this because she had forgotten that day that she told us we were recording at her house. At TY Park, Angelica's family was barbecuing and she invited family friends. One of these family friends would then accidentally become the main focus of the film. And against my intuition, I had let this pass and this led to some future inconveniences. We also had some other friends of Angelica's that would also be in the video.
We first started filming at Starbucks. There we all got drinks but also recorded a good chunk of the scenes we would use. We used shots like medium shots and medium-long shots. We then went back and recorded basic footage of walking for filler. After we arrived back at the park, it had gotten late, so we decided to do a run to the sunset scene, which would be the final shot. We later went back to Angelica's house to film the at-home scenes. We shot scenes using Dutch angles and low angles along with extreme close-up shots. We ended the day of shooting there as it was late and everyone had left.
