Production Blog - Editing Begins
I was the main editor so I decided to use the program I had used for my last assignment. The program was called Adobe Premiere Pro and I learned how to use it decently. The actual editing was pretty easy and felt a lot like just putting the videos in chronological order. Now I had difficulty trying to use the program as I only had access to it while I was at a certain library relatively close to me. The library wasn't a walk away though and I had to go via bus. This lack of direct access to editing the video heavily slowed down production. Now another obstacle I had to jump over was figuring out how to store the videos in a high-quality manner. This was because the videos weren't on my phone and it was difficult to save them onto a flash drive or some sort of storage device. I ended up using Google Drive and just emailing everything. Once I had everything set up I had to put together the clips together and "re-remember" how to do a large majority of the skills I had learned before.
Now a few things on the positive note are that I felt relatively comfortable using the program and had ease moving around it and saving and importing actual files. Now I had repeated issues with the fact I didn't choose the phone we used or whether I used Cinematic or just regular video. This sort of resolved by having spare shots that I could use, but it was still a reoccurring problem. I also wasn't sure if I had enough footage, as from past experience filling a minute of footage or audio is relatively hard. Now a lot of the time I used was figuring out how the shots of a scene lined up, or at least how far I had planned for them to go. This led to a lot of back and forth and just guessing and trying. Although I did make my own creative choices. I also had the help of a friend who would go with me. He would basically be my second judgment and allow me to debate my own decisions. Now I'm only halfway done but I'm sure I'll have far more issues coming at me.
