Production Blog - Problems on Problems

When I first started trying to even start I had an almost immediate problem. I had come into the making of this commercial thinking I knew exactly what I was going to do and what media I was going to use. This wasn't close to the truth at all. I ended up rewriting the mental plan I had because I misunderstood what the actual commercial was going to be. So I chose new songs such as The Boy Is Mine by Brandy, and Monica and Sure thing by Miguel. Although I kept the photos the same I added more along with any videos I could find of. The videos were one of the trickiest parts of this as I do not record or record myself a whole lot. Moving on, once I figured out what to use I had another problem. I had no idea how to edit yet. This led to me watching a lot of videos on how to do it and started editing and plugging videos and music. After attempting to edit for a decent while I hit a block and struggled to continue. Now I stopped for the day and moved on to brainstorming on how to get more videos or photos of me. The reason why this was the biggest hurdle I had was because I don't typically record myself or get photos of me taken. I ended up scrapping whatever I had to do a completely different style of video. The commercial was now going to be in chronological order. It would begin with the earliest photos and videos of me, which to me were the most abundant. This led to some more "blocks" with creativity. I couldn't find too many videos of me when I was in middle school and I didn't want a slideshow of just photos of me. By slideshow I mean I didn't want to have just photos of me over music. Although that's really what was left on the table, I decided against it. I then went to my family to see if they had any photos/videos of me. All I have left for now is to wait for my family to check if they have any type of media of me.
